Il cognome Lauria è documentato a Sammarco (antico nome del comune) fin dal Settecento. La prima registrazione avvenne nel 1810 con la nascita di Maria Carmela, e nell'atto di matrimonio del fratello Giuseppe leggiamo che questi era nato nel 1804 a Sammarco.
Abbiamo ricostruito tre nuclei familiari: uno di cui abbiamo notizia fino al 1814, un altro documentato fino al 1855 e il terzo presente nella seconda metà del secolo in contrada Valle Caruso.
Erano tutti bracciali.

The surname Lauria is documented in Sammarco (old name of the town) since the eighteenth century. Its first registration was done in 1810 in the birth record of Maria Carmela, and in the marriage certificate of her brother Giuseppe we can read that he was born in 1804 in Sammarco.
We built three family trees: we have informations till 1814 about the smallest one, an other one is documented till 1855, and the third living in the second half of century in a country called Valle Caruso.
All men were farm labourers.
